Finally a solution for using my old 3.5mm shotgun mic with standard XLR inputs on a long cable run. The built-in transformer really cuts out the hum and noise I used to get. It also converts phantom power to plug-in power perfectly, so no extra batteries needed.

I run a shotgun mic into a camcorder from about 30 feet away and this adapter kept the signal clean with zero hum, which is exactly what I needed from the transformer-balanced design. Feeding phantom power through it to the mic has worked flawlessly on every shoot so far.

The locking 3.5mm connection feels rock solid, and the transformer balancing completely kills the hum I used to get on longer runs. Plug
