AudioTechnica AT9947CM SHOTGUN MONO MICROPHONE

The narrow pickup pattern is a lifesaver when I'm shooting outdoors—it cuts out the traffic rumble completely. Hooked it up to my DSLR and the audio from my subject stayed crisp even with people chatting a few feet away.

The narrow pickup pattern really cuts out background noise during interviews, and it's small enough to mount on my camera without extra support. Audio quality on my DSLR clips is noticeably cleaner than with the built-in mic.

Shot it onto my DSLR for an outdoor interview and was shocked how well it rejected wind noise and background chatter—crystal clear audio from a tiny mic. The tight pickup pattern really does make a difference in crowded spaces.
